4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used and measure our advertising.

We may use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, the Meta Pixel and similar tags from LinkedIn and TikTok. These providers may collect information about your visit and use it to show you our ads on other sites and apps. You can learn more or opt out here:

  • Google: adssettings.google.com and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on
  • Meta: your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences
  • Industry opt-outs: optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers who help us run the business, such as website hosting, email, scheduling and CRM software, payment processing, accounting and advertising platforms. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Subcontractors and suppliers when needed to complete work at your property (for example, tree or irrigation specialists).
  • Property managers, HOA boards or owners connected to the property where we perform work.
  • Legal and safety reasons, when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, property or safety and that of others.
  • Business transfers, if The Grey Barn is involved in a merger, sale or acquisition, in which case your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
  • With your consent, for example when you agree to let us feature your project or testimonial.

Client and billing records are kept for as long as you are a client and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting and legal requirements call for, typically up to 7 years.

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, such as encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access limited to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
